Oaths, and Vows — Supported by Biblical Law by H.B. Clark

A somewhat interesting and alarming fact about Christians in this day and age is the fact that we don’t take promises, covenants, oaths, and even swearing (in both terms) very seriously. If we look back from Genesis all the way to the New Testament, we see that the bible is VERY VERY serious about the act of making an oath and keeping it. More specifically making an oath to God.

A book I recommend you look at for both this topic and for anything relating to law and the bible is Biblical Law by H.B. Clark (published by American Vision). It’s a wonderful resource for explaining in great detail the laws of the bible, how they pertain to us, how they were used back then and now, the exceptions, and the application of it.

Review of Romans 1

Romans is one of the best books in the bible that explains the center and beliefs of Christianity.  It is packed with a ton of information on how a person is saved, why he should be saved, how to live a Christian life, and what happens if a person doesn’t follow God.

I hope this review of Romans helps you understand the book, and also helps you understand the core of Christianity as a whole. (more…)

Quick Summary of Mormonism

Mormonism is one of the most bizarre — God beleving — religions I’ve seen yet.  It’s a belief system that is based mostly on claims and not actual evidence. Infact, there is a ton of evidence against what Mormons believe as a whole. (more…)

Faith is Void Without Works

Faith is the heart of Christianity, it is what allows us to get the free gift God gave us thru his Son, Jesus Christ.  Faith is understood by nearly all Christians, however a big majority of Christians don’t know that works is also a part of faith and Christianity as a whole. (more…)

“Why Does God Allow So Much Evil In The World?”

Posted by on Jan 11, 2016 in Doctrine | 0 comments

This is one of the classic arguments against God’s existence: “If God exists, then why does He allow so much evil in the world”.  New believers will most likely be caught off guard by this statement and have no way of countering that argument, however once you know it, it’s easy to debunk. (more…)

Blasphemy Against The Holy Spirit

Blasphemy Against The Holy Spirit

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.” And he called them to him and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house. “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”– for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Mark 3: 22-30 (ESV)

I’ve been studying this topic for a while now, it got my attention since it is the most serious sin in the the bible, and I wanted to learn as much as possible about it.   Here are two sides that I’ve come to conclude with after all my research. (more…)
